Pre-K - Grade 12

Our Musical Theatre classes are a highly encouraged prerequisite in preparation for full Productions offered to Grades 4+.

Intro to Musical Theatre Class - Ages 3-4 

Saturdays

(45 min. Drop off class, Parent Observation optional)

In this class, toddlers will be encouraged to use their imagination, self expression, sing, and dance their hearts out! Our experienced teachers focus on strengthening confidence using tools such as storytelling, music, puppetry, and group activities/games. We strive to reach a level of safety and enjoyment. This freedom of expression, along with confidence, are crucial elements of Musical Theatre. Throughout our sessions, kids are introduced to a variety of Broadway show tunes, learn choreography, explore how music inspires their bodies to move, and most of all, have FUN! Grownups and families are invited to the final class to observe their presentation.

Musical Theatre 1 Class - Grades K-1 

Wednesdays & Saturdays

(60 min. Drop off class)

In this class, Grades K-1 will be encouraged to use their imagination, self expression, sing, and dance their hearts out! Our performers will be introduced to Broadway music, develop their storytelling skills, and strengthen their self confidence. Throughout our sessions, our students are introduced to the basics of Musical Theatre, improvisation/creativity, stage directions, memorization, clear vocal projection, and many other theatrical skills all while having FUN! We work together to create a short performance of Broadway tunes which grownups & families are invited to watch at the end of our semester!

Musical Theatre 2 Class - Grades 2-3 

Mondays

Led by theatre professionals, children grades 2-3 explore different genres of Broadway music, develop their storytelling, acting, singing, dancing, and strengthen their self confidence! Throughout our sessions, our young performers are introduced to and trained in the basics of Musical Theatre etiquette, improvisation, creativity, stage directions, memorization, clear vocal projection, and other important theatrical skills which help prepare them for the big stage. We work together to produce a short performance of Broadway tunes which grownups & families are invited to watch at the end of our semester.

Improv: Grades 4-7 & Grades 7-12

(60 min. Class)

This class is perfect for the beginner and/or the seasoned performer looking to fine-tune their acting skills. Improvisation is an important aspect of unleashing your acting instincts on stage. Practicing these skills enables quick thinking, imagination, and spontaneity - applicable to many scenarios we find ourselves in outside of the theatre. This class will focus on exploration of each student’s instincts to help getting more comfortable on stage, creating specific characters, and fun improv games to strengthen your skills.

*NEW* Broadway Dance Styles- Thursdays

(60 min. Class)

 

Jump into the fundamentals of broadway dance in our new Intro to Broadway Dance Styles class! Throughout our sessions, our Broadway-trained instructor will guide you through a fun, technique-focused warm-up, followed by teaching an exciting dance combination. Each week, our Instructor will introduce a new dance style inspired by a different Choreographer to help educate students on Broadway’s rich dance history. Designed for young artists to gain a deeper appreciation and knowledge of Broadway dance styles all while building strong dance technique. Let's dance!

 

**NOTE: Learning a full musical in our Production class involves quick learning skills and ability to pick up choreography. This class is a perfect pairing with Intro to Vocal Technique to support your young artist in their Junior or Broadway Co. Production.**

Vocal Technique - Fridays

(60 min. Class)

Join our professional voice instructor for a journey into the world of musical theatre vocals. Led by an industry professional, this class will provide your young artist with the essential tools to develop your voice and explore various musical genres. This class includes: 

 

Vocal Training- learning foundational vocal technique including proper breathing, resonance, musicality and projection. Introduction to vocal pedagogy and musical repertoire. 

 

Genre Exploration- Discovering the nuances of different musical styles from classic Broadway to contemporary pop.

 

Performance Opportunities- Showcase your skills through short solos and group numbers in a final performance.

Personalized Guidance- receive tailored feedback from our teaching artist with tips to help you find your unique voice.

 

Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this class offers a supportive  environment for aspiring Musical Theatre performers.
